ET_AEE is an acronym of Educational Tools for Architectural Environment Engineering.
ET_AEE is a new educational-tool program that calculates several tasks related to the topics of Architectural Environment Engineering aiming at undergraduate students. However, ET_AEE probably seems to be useful not only for undergraduate students but also graduate students, engineers and researchers. ET_AEE provides above-mentioned calculations on a user-friendly interface, in other words, Graphical User Interface, GUI , which works on the platform of Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT.
Programming of ET_AEE was done by the Urban and Architectural Environment Laboratory, Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences (IGSES), Kyushu University, which holds the entire copyright. Concerning Expanded AMeDAS Weather Data, Weather Data Working-group, Environmental Engineering Committee, Architectural Instituteof Japan (AIJ) generously permitted to cite several precious results of their marvelous computer program .In particular,we would like to express our hearty gratitudetoDr. Nimiya and Dr. Soga who gave us a great collaboration.

How to Install
ET_AEE is free software. You are welcome to useit. Published file is not source code but only executable file. Anyone can download an installation file from here. You can copythat installation file, which is not recommendable, however. Because, if you do so, we can't grasp the entire circle of users, which will be inconvenient in case of dissemination of further version ET_AEE. Therefore, the download should be done by yourself, and also, you are required user registration bye-mail.

This is a beta test version of ET_AEE that has revised and supplemented its functions from former release, version 1.1.11

One important issue to reinstall is that you should select modified installation where you can see a first dialog box. Unfortunately that dialog box will be provided by unreadable characters, which are transformed Japanese characters. However, you will be able to select (E), one of three alternatives. That means the modified installation.
Remember to confirm new version status and built date, which is located under Main Menu/Help/about. Those must be "1.1.12" and "Dec.11.2000" respectively.

Calculating functions provided by ET_AEE are totally 12 that are classified into 2 parts.
ET_AEE provides a separate dialog box for eachcalculationtopic that was designed to be cool and easyunderstanding considering GUI. One of the specific features to be stressedis that ET_AEE has a huge Help file used a bunch of image files which is very useful and helpful. If you want to know details how to operate ET_AEE, first of all, make sure to access the Help.
Main portion of the source code of ET_AEE was written by Visual Basic / ver.6.0. In several cases external executable files originally described by Fortran, are quoted by means of shell function supported by Visual Basic. The Help file was coded by RoboHELP Classic/ ver.7.00. All of files including above mentioned executable files, samples files and requisite Windows system files are compiled and compressed into the installation package by Install Shield Professional / ver.6.
Download the compressed file, and then, decode that at your Hard Disk, MO or some kind of external media. You will find out 9 installation files of which total amount is almost 6.8MB. Execute "setup.exe" to start the installation.You can probably execute that both on Explorer and the specific folder popping up fromMy Computer by double clicking. However, we recommend that you start from "Run" on Start menu after closing all other Windows programs.
Generated files after the installation are under "\Kyushu Univ\ET_AEE " that is newly allocated under "c:\ Program Files ". Total amount of those is about 8.7MB.
